Delectable Adventures

Today was another great day in the beautiful city of Firenze! I don’t think I’ll every get tired of the beautiful walk to Dr. DeMaria’s class at FUA’s J school, when the city is just starting to wake up. At the start of class, we reviewed the research papers and posters from last year to bring the ideas that were relevant previously back into our minds. This activity helped us remember the culture surrounding different reproductive issues in Italy. We then discussed how to write the methods section of our research papers and then were put to work to get them done in one hour. It was very rewarding to see the finished product when we put all our brain power in to get the work done efficiently!

In the Food, Wine, and Culture class we took a trip to Mercato Centrale to taste a variety of Italian breads from regular Tuscan bread to schiacciata, a thin focaccia. They were all so delicious and it was very interesting to see the differences of the breads! Still craving a few more carbs, I decided to get lunch on the main floor of the market, which at 1 PM was incredibly hectic! After waiting for 20 minutes for my food, I had some of the most delectable gnocchi filled with liquid formaggio (that’s cheese!) that explodes in your mouth when you bite! Definitely worth the wait!
