Italian Street Style

Tips and Tricks to "Looking" like an Italian on the Florentine Streets

We all know traveling to a foreign country can be difficult, but picking out what to wear each day? That can be a downright burden. It is well-known that Italians have some of the best street style in all of Europe. If you are planning on hitting the cobblestone streets of Italy, here are some perfect ideas for minimizing the pressure of finding the perfect outfit.

1. Denim

Say hello to the early 2000s because denim is back and stronger than ever! There is no shame with pairing a denim jacket and a pair of stylish jeans on a cool day in Italy.

2. High-End Retail Fashion

While it may not be in your budget, Italians do love their high-end fashion pieces. Gucci, Prada, Fendi, Ferragamo, Cavalli, and Valentino are some of the stores you can expect to find while roaming the streets of Florence. If you need a “Lil Pump” in your life to get started, joining the Gucci Gang is always a good option while in Italy.

3. Heels

Clack, clack, clack, put those Burks away! Heels are the way to go when walking through the city. Whether it be a pair of stilettos or just some simple pumps, make sure to pair your outfit with a style pair of heels. There is nothing wrong with channeling your inner Carrie Bradshaw for a night out in the city. Just be sure to watch where you step!

4. Flowy Pants

With the cool mornings and hot days, it might feel impossible to find a pair of pants that will keep you both warm and cool with the crazy weather patterns. You can never go wrong a pair of flowy pants that offer warmth when you need it, but also a nice breeze when you're under the Tuscan sun.

5. Jewelry

Don’t forget to pack those cute statement necklaces that we know you have! Pairing a good set of earrings or a bold necklace will go great with any outfit on your Italian adventure. The Italian way is to always dress more than the occasion, so dress up your outfit with some extra jewels, especially gold pieces!

6. Scarves

News flash: scarves are not only for winter! Spicing up your outfit with a stylish scarf is always the move in Italy. Make a statement with a bold color or pattern filled scarf. On your neck, in your hair, around your waist...your options are endless!

7. Quality Blazer

Wanting to go for a more professional look? Having a nice blazer paired with your outfit is a good way to turn your outfit from a no to a go! It is also a great way to transition your outfit from day to night.

8. Purses

Bigger is always better! If you are going to carry your belongings in a purse, chose to go big or go home. Large, neutral purses or bold statement bags are a commonalities among women in Italia.

9. Makeup

You might have to put that winged eyeliner look on the shelf during your stay in Italy. Italians like to go for a more natural look when out on the streets. More earthy eyeshadow tones are a great way to go for that natural look. Less is more.

10. Hats

Want to throw some shade? Hats are an excellent way to keep your face out of the sun on a hot day in Italy, and create a whole new look at the same time!
